Robert David Steele is an American activist and former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) officer, who is best known for his promotion of open-source intelligence. He is the author of numerous books on intelligence and public administration. He also served as an election observer in Ukraine, Tunisia, Egypt, and Afghanistan. Steele’s father was an executive in an oil company, and he, therefore, spent the first twenty years of his life in Asia and Latin America. He held a bachelor of arts in political science, a master’s degree in international relations, and an AMP in public administration. He worked at the Embassy of the United States, San Salvador during the Salvadoran Civil War as a political officer. He then researched artificial intelligence and cognitive strategy.
CONNECTIONS TO ATLANTIC COUNCIL
Open-source advocate Robert David Steele said in an exclusive interview with New Eastern Outlook that he has “zero doubt” the Atlantic Council is coordinating hybrid war efforts against Russia. He sees this having a profoundly negative effect on democratic institutions everywhere, including Europe.
Steele is a former CIA case officer and US Marine Corps infantry and intelligence officer. He is noted as the author of “THE OPEN SOURCE EVERYTHING MANIFESTO: Transparency, Truth, and Trust” (2012). As a proponent of open source methods and philosophy, Steele argues that most problems can be solved by applying transparency, truth, and trust to information gathering and decision-making.
He is the founder of Open Source Solutions, Inc. and Earth Intelligence Network, a non-profit educational corporation. Additionally, he serves as director of the Corelight Strategy Group which works to integrate Core & Web (Conflict/Coherence) via transpartisan principles that respect both national/cultural diversity AND History. He said: “It was all a coup. Crimea voted overwhelmingly to be re-unified with Russia. The “little green men” were not Russian soldiers, they were volunteers.”

In the same interview he further added that after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, there was a period of “unbridled jubilation” about the new opportunities created by globalization. He said, “In 1992, Monsieur Giscard d’Estaing, a former President of France and a friend of mine – I was an economic advisor to three French presidents and to many other heads of state around the world – told me the European dream was dead, and that new world order was taking shape. The ‘masters of mankind,’ as Adam Smith referred to them, would be transnational corporations. Globalization would profit everyone but the people doing the work.”Robert David Steele.
“I had no trouble with globalization,” he added. “Since 1989, I have been saying that we would be 1 billion or more in the year 2000. I did not have a hard time with that prediction because it was based on 1) the Green Revolution, 2) computers, 3) communications technology, 4) inter-networking.”
“What I did have trouble understanding was the degree to which both presidential candidates were wrong about where we are today… Donald Trump talks about the $19 trillion of debt. Hillary Clinton was not far behind with her $20 trillion of debt. Both were wrong by a factor of two – it is now $38 trillion. And that does not include unfunded liabilities which, when you actually calculate all the numbers, is another 50-100 trillion dollars.”

And then the Atlantic Council is doing a PR campaign to convince people that man-made global warming is real! There is no more man-made global warming than there was before!”
He also said: “The U.S. Intelligence community needs a serious housecleaning. I would fire 90% of U.S. secret intelligence officers, including myself.”
